Why Should We Care?
At our recent congregational meeting someone asked, “Why are we sending money to support the Russian church when we are having a hard time making our budget?” Another person asked, “Why do we have people going to Africa when we are considering budget cuts?” As your pastor, hearing those questions come out of the mouths of our own members breaks my heart. These questions are painful for two reasons. The first reason is that our budget concerns are not due to a lack of money. This congregation has more money than it needs.

When Your Mate Doesn't Share Your Faith (4)
“If a woman has a husband who is not a believer.” 1Co 7:13 NIV
A wise wife listens to God. When you know things your partner doesn’t about God and His Word, it’s hard to resist “demonstrating your knowledge.” But it’s an art God wants you to master. Here are two Bible principles that will help you to lead, not push, your husband closer to God: (1) The principle of submission. “Wives, in the same way be submissive to your husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives” (1Pe 3:1 NIV). Submission to the needs of others is hard on our pride, especially when we know we’re scripturally right. The need to be “right,” however, will sabotage your hopes for your mate’s salvation. |

To Save A Life
Review by:Todd Hertz
When I walked out of the theatre after seeing To Save a Life, I was pretty positive about this teen flick. This outreach project of California's New Song Community Church has the best production values I've seen from a church-made feature film, tells a good story, and captures both youth group culture and high school life pretty authentically. The movie is poignant, often funny and filled with memorable scenes. But in the weeks since I first saw it, I've been bothered by some weaknesses and unintended messages that have dampened my praise and recommendation. Loosely based on the hit song "How To Save A Life" by The Fray, the movie opens after the public suicide of an outcast teen named Roger (Robert Bailey, Jr.).
